1. How do I schedule an event at the Capitol?
If you wish to use the Capitol or its grounds for any event, the General Services Division handles such requests. Please contact the General Services Division’s Service Desk by calling 304.558.2317 or email

Quotes, Notes & Anecdotes, which is posted online at
www.administration.wv.gov/newsletters. Media releases that are issued are also posted on our website at
https://dev-administration.wv.gov/department-news. Additionally, the Department of Administration has a Twitter site under the user name
westvirginiadoa. All employees are encouraged to follow us!
7. How can I get an Ethics opinion on a matter? All Ethics opinions are posted on the West Virginia Ethics Commission’s website at
www.ethics.wv.gov. To obtain an opinion on an issue that has not already been addressed and posted on its website, contact the Ethics Commission by phone at 304.558.0664 (toll-free 1.866.558.0664), via fax at 304.558.2169, or by email at
ethics@wv.gov.
8. Which entrance to the State Capitol do I use to get into the Capitol on weekends to visit? The West Wing entrance with ADA accessibility, across from the Culture Center, is open during regular weekend hours for visitors. During the week, there is also an East Wing entrance open to visitors.
9. Who takes care of the lost and found on the State Capitol Complex? The Division of Protective Services maintains the lost and found for the Capitol Complex. That office may be reached at 304.558.9911.
10. May I request a flag to be flown over the Capitol? Yes. If you would like to request a flag to be flown over the Capitol, contact the General Services Division’s Service Desk at 304.558.2317 or email
GSDServiceDesk@wv.gov. West Virginia flags may be purchased at the Culture Center Gift Shop or may be acquired from other retailers.

13. How can the public acquire state surplus property?
The West Virginia State Agency for Surplus Property makes state property available to the public through online auctions on GovDeals
here and through daily sales at its facility at 2700 Charles Avenue in Dunbar, West Virginia. The facility is open Monday-Friday (excluding holidays) from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. More information can also be found at
WVSurplus.gov.
14. Where can I view bid opportunities for the state? All bid opportunities expected to exceed $10,000 are posted within the Vendor Self Service (VSS) portal at
www.wvoasis.gov. Agencies may also advertise solicitations of lesser amounts on the VSS at their discretion.
