CHARLESTON,
W.Va. – The West Virginia
Division of Personnel and WorkForce WV are joining forces to sponsor the annual
State Government Career Fair on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at the Culture Center
on the State Capitol campus. The event runs from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. and is open to
the public.
The State
Government Career Fair is aimed at providing job seekers with information on
full-time state government employment opportunities and benefits.
Participating
state agency officials will be searching to fill all vacant positions including
– but not limited to – those in accountancy, finance, health services,
corrections/law enforcement, environmental services, customer service,
information technology, natural resources and secretarial/administrative.
Approximately 24
state agencies will be present, including the State Tax Department, the
Department of Environmental Protection, the Offices of the Insurance
Commissioner, the Department of Health and Human Resources, the Department of
Commerce (i.e. Division of Natural Resources and WorkForce West Virginia), the
Department of Military Affairs and Public Safety (i.e. Division of Corrections
and Rehabilitation and State Police), the Department of Transportation (i.e.
Division of Highways), the Public Service Commission, and the Department of
Administration (i.e. Office of Technology and the Division of Personnel).
Representatives will be available to discuss employment opportunities and
answer any questions potential employee candidates may have.
Employment
counselors will also be available to answer additional questions pertaining to
the state employment application process. Interested individuals are encouraged
to bring their résumé, proper identification and any other information they
wish to share with prospective employers.

information will be distributed to college students who may be interested in
participating in the Governor’s Internship Program. For more information on the
