West Virginia Ethics Commission Announces 2016 Lobbyist Directory Deadline and January Ethics Training Opportunity

12/1/2015
CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The West Virginia Ethics Commission announced today that the deadline for newly registered lobbyists to be included in the 2016 Lobbyist Directory is Wednesday, December 16, 2015.

Lobbyists who have already registered for the 2015-16 registration cycle will automatically be included in the directory.  Those intending to register to lobby during the 2016 Legislative Session must register with the Ethics Commission by the established deadline, December 16, 2015, in order to be included in the directory.

All lobbyists registered in West Virginia must complete one training course during the January 1, 2015 - December 31, 2016, lobbyist registration cycle.  The Ethics Commission will present a one-hour training course regarding provisions of the Ethics Act relevant to lobbyists on Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at the Caperton Training Center Capitol Room, Building 6 at the Capitol Complex in Charleston.

First-time lobbyists in West Virginia who have not attended lobbyist training must complete this training within 90 days of the date on which they register to lobby.  Lobbyists may also fulfill the statutory training requirement by viewing a training video on the Ethics Commission’s website at www.ethics.wv.gov.
