CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The West Virginia Ethics Commission today issued a Final Decision and Order against the former Clerk of the West Virginia Court of Claims Cheryle M. Hall, which orders her to pay a fine of $1,500 and to reimburse the Ethics Commission $4,668 for the costs of prosecuting her violation of the Ethics Act. The Ethics Commission also issued a public reprimand against Hall.
The Ethics Commission found that Hall had used her position for the private gain of another by knowingly and intentionally failing to require a subordinate employee to take leave time, or to take time off without pay, for 32 days of work for which she was paid and received employment benefits.
