Charleston, WV — The West Virginia Public Employees Insurance Agency (PEIA), in partnership with Personify Health, is pleased to announce an upcoming Mountaineer Mile event, designed to promote physical activity and healthy living among West Virginia state employees.
The event will take place Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at the West Virginia State Capitol grounds in Charleston. On-site registration will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the central fountain near the Liberty Bell, followed by a one-mile walk around the Capitol perimeter at 11:30 a.m.
Open to participants of all fitness levels, the Mountaineer Mile event will offer an energizing midday opportunity to step away from the workday, get moving, and connect with colleagues. The first 100 PEIA PPB plan participants to register on-site will receive a complimentary event T-shirt.
“We’re excited to partner with Personify Health to bring the Mountaineer Mile to our Capitol campus,” said Michelle Bauer, a PEIA representative. “This event is a great opportunity to step away from the desk, get active, and prioritize wellness in a fun, supportive environment.”
No advance registration is required. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes and invite coworkers or friends to join. Get triple points for your Mountaineer Mile walks during the month of April on the Personify app.
