Extended Hours Allows State Agency for Surplus Property to Reach More Customers

5/1/2014

West Virginia State Agency for Surplus Property (WVSASP) officials applaud the success and positive feedback of the agency’s new extended business hours offered on the first Monday of each month during this summer. Surplus Property officials announced in early April that the agency would offer longer operating hours on these dedicated Mondays to give working West Virginians an opportunity to stop by after their work day to check out the offers. The next opportunity for potential customers is Monday, May 5, on which WVSASP will stay open until 7 p.m.

“Customers certainly took advantage of our first Monday with extended hours on April 7.  We sold several vehicles and, considering that Surplus Property is a self-sustaining agency, this venture provided an early, excellent return on the idea,” said Surplus Property Manager Elizabeth Perdue. “With temperatures continuing to rise along with an increased interest in this concept, we anticipate our next extended business day on May 5th to be equally well received.”

The State Agency for Surplus Property offers a wide variety of quality, used items at affordable prices. These items include household furniture, office equipment and furniture, lawn maintenance equipment, tools, kitchen equipment and vehicles. The West Virginia State Agency for Surplus Property is located at 2700 Charles Avenue in Dunbar. WVSASP’s normal business hours are from 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Payment methods accepted include certified check or money order, Discover, Visa, or MasterCard. All vehicles are sold in “as is, where is” condition.
