WVOT Summit

The West Virginia Office of Technology (WVOT) will host the West Virginia Information Technology Summit 2009, which is designed for Government and Business Leaders, information technology (IT) professionals, and customers who benefit from WVOT IT-services. The conference, which is scheduled for Tuesday, November 3 through Thursday, November 5 at the
Charleston Civic Center, is open to those in both the public and private sectors.


Entitled “Bring ‘IT’ On,” this three-day conference will feature educational programs by tracks to suit the needs of specific audiences. A diverse range of vital and emerging topics will be presented by professional experts in the IT field, including Teri Takai, chief technology officer for the state of California; Cathilea Robinett, executive director for the Center for Digital Government and Center for Digital Education; and Gail Thomas-Flynn, general manager of Microsoft’s national U.S. State and Local Government Team.

In addition, nearly 50 vendors will be on-site to demonstrate and discuss the latest in information technology.  The NOREX pre-conference forum, “Roundtable Discussion of Technology Issues Facing Today’s IT Professionals,” will also be offered.
