WV Surplus is responsible for the ethical retirement and sale of state property. Items retired by the state are available for purchase by members of the general public as well as eligible organizations, state agencies, local municipalities, and more. As a self-funded entity, WV Surplus is here to serve West Virginia by offering good, usable property at a fair price.

Public Sales

WV Surplus provides sales to members of the general public through its warehouse located in Dunbar and through its online auction site, Gov Deals. Inventory often available at WV Surplus includes home/office furniture, kitchen appliances, and vehicles.

WV Surplus provides special benefits to registered organizations including 501(c)3 nonprofits, local municipalities, churches, volunteer fire departments and more.These benefits include early access to desired inventory, extra time to pay/pick-up items, and discounts.​
